The Benevolent has appointed four new members to its board of trusteesThe new trustees are Diana Hunter of Conviviality Plc, Guy Lawrence of Mast-Jägermeister UK, Rita Greenwood of William Grant & Sons UK and Simon Difford of Difford’s Guide.
“I am delighted to welcome the new trustees to the board,” commented Dan Townsend, Benevolent chairman.
“They are all well-known and highly respected and bring with them hugely relevant experience which will be invaluable at this crucial time in trade charity’s growth.
“Their appointment is a solid demonstration of The Benevolent’s commitment to on-going expansion and engagement with the wider UK drinks industry community.
“I wish to acknowledge the exceptional contribution that Chris Mason has made over the years and thank him for being the architect of the strategic changes that the charity made five years ago.”
The Benevolent works with the drinks industry and charity partners to tackle social issues such as long-term illnesses, homelessness, poverty and disability, and also offers practical, emotional and financial support to members of the trade.
The new appointments are part of the charity’s endeavours to create “wider engagement” with the UK drinks industry.
David Cox, chief executive, added: “I am very fortunate to be guided by a group of excellent trustees who provide solid governance and expert advice and who understand implicitly the ethos of the charity.
“I am looking forward to working with our four new members of the board immensely and additionally thank Chris for all that he has done for The Benevolent.”
