Kingsbarns Distillery launches minibus service
By Amy HopkinsWemyss Malts is set to launch a free mini bus service to its Lowlands-based Kingsbarns Distillery during the month of May.
Kingsbarns Distillery has launched a free minibus service during MayRunning three times a day, the minibus will pick up from the St Andrews Visitor Information Centre are at 10am, 1pm and 4pm, with stops about 10 minutes later at the Fairmont Hotel on the way to the distillery.
Visitors will join the one-hour tours starting at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm, before being returned to their starting point.
“Our Distillery and Visitor Centre opened on St Andrews Day 2014 and we’ve had nearly 11,000 visitors on tour since we opened,” said Douglas Clement, founder and visitor centre manager at Kingsbarns Distillery
“We hope that our free minibus service will enable us to bring even more people here to enjoy a tour, a visit to our cafe and shop.”
The minibus is free and has eight seats for passengers. Spaces can be reserved on the minibus by calling the St Andrews Visitor Information Centre on 01334 472021.
Kingsbarns’ visitors’ centre is open daily from 10am to 6pm, with tours running hourly from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Overlooking the Kingsbarns Championship Golf Course, Kingsbarns Distillery will produce single malt Scotch whisky from Fife-grown malted barley that’s matured predominantly in ex-Bourbon casks. In August last year, the distillery bottled its 63.5% abv new make spirit to sell it its visitors’ centre.
