Drake debuts Virginia Black whiskey brand

Set to be distributed exclusively by Proximo Spirits, Virginia Black is a blend of two, three and four-year old Bourbon whiskies “focused on a high rye content”.
After taking to Instagram last month to to reveal a sneak peek of the bottle with the caption “First look”, the highly-anticipated release is now due to hit shelves on May 1.
The expression is marketed with the tagline ‘Rich. Decadent. Smooth’, and will be “the first in a line of decadent expressions” from the Hotline Bling artist and award-winning spirits producer.
Hocking said: “Uniquely positioned to redefine American whiskey, Virginia Black will engage enthusiasts irrespective of spirit preference or experience.”
Although the price of the whiskey has not yet been disclosed, he added: “We believe everyone should have access to glamour, swagger and soul. Our price point grants them that access, allowing people to embody the lifestyle always, not just on special occasions.”
Virginia Black is bottled at 40% abv, and will initially be made available in California, New York and Nevada, before rolling out internationally.
