Breaking Bad bar makers to open naked resto

London is set to welcome its “first” naked restaurant this summer from the team behind last year’s popular Breaking Bad-inspired pop-up bar.

Lollipop is set to open London’s first naked restaurant this summer

ABQ opened its doors in 2015 and enticed more than 65,000 cocktail fans through its doors for a molecular drinking experience.

Now, Lollipop – the firm behind ABQ – is planning to open pop-up restaurant The Bunyadi, which aims to be use natural, home grown ingredients in a “Pangea-like world”, with no phones, electric lights and even clothes if patrons so desire.

Food will be cooked in wood-flame grills served on handmade clay crockery and edible cutlery, and served by candle light with a bamboo and wicker partition and wood-hewn furniture.

“We believe people should get the chance to enjoy and experience a night out without any impurities: no chemicals, no artificial colours, no electricity, no gas, no phone and even no clothes if they wish,” said Seb Lyall, founder of Lollipop. “The idea is to experience true liberation.

“We worked very hard to design a space where everything patrons interact with is bare and naked.

“The use of natural bamboo partitions and candlelight has enabled to us to make the restaurant discreet, whilst adhering to the ethos behind it. “No doubt, this has been the most challenging project for us yet, which makes us very excited about it.”

The venue design has been separated into two sections – “pure” and clothed – and has room to accommodate up to 42 guests. More than 3,700 people have already signed up to the waiting list.

The Bunyadi will be open for three months from June 2016. Vegan and non-vegan tasting menus will also be served, and gowns, changing rooms and lockers will be provided.

Bunyadi is a Hindi word meaning fundamental, base and natural.
