Beckham back on board for new Haig

Diageo has confirmed it will release a second single grain Scotch whisky expression under the Haig Club umbrella, following the “successful launch” of the David Beckham-backed brand.

Diageo has confirmed that David Beckham is back on board for a second Haig Club expression

“After the successful launch of Haig Club, we are excited to be introducing an outstanding new whisky to the House of Haig,” a Diageo spokesperson confirmed.

“Diageo feels the time is right to expand upon the interest in single grain whisky that Haig Club has helped firmly establish with new Scotch lovers around the world, by adding another great-tasting whisky to our portfolio.

“Just as the House of Haig has done over its almost 400 year history, we look forward to expanding the line and presenting the newest expression of Haig whisky to the world. Diageo looks forward to launching alongside our brand partner David Beckham later in the year, with full details to be shared closer to launch.”

Created from grain whisky from the Cameronbridge distillery, Haig Club’s launch was first announced in April 2014.

The 40% abv, no-age-statement expression was released in its signature square blue bottle in October 2014, with both Beckham and music mogul Simon Fuller playing a “fundamental role” in brand development.
