Balcones opens new distillery in Texas
The Waco Chamber of Commerce joined Balcones Distilling for the official opening of the company’s new distillery in Texas.
Balcones Distilling has officially opened its new site in Waco, texas
To mark the new location in Waco at the former four-storey Texas Fireproof Storage Building, Balcones provided a reception, ribbon cutting ceremony, giveaways, live music, whiskey tastings paired with local foods and a tour of the new facility.
Guests in attendance included Waco mayor Malcolm Dumcan Jr. and Baylor and Pittsburgh Steelers footballer Walter Abercrombie.
“The new Balcones Distilling facility is a perfect addition to Waco’s booming business community,” said Tate Christensen, chairman of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce.
“We are glad to celebrate this occasion by their side. This event brings us one step closer to more jobs in the community.”
The new site will enable Balcones to support further growth in the market by providing gas line upgrades and improved electrical and parking infrastructure.
Also, Balcones forecasts it will pay almost US$300,000 in property taxes over the next five years.
“It is amazing to see our long-time dream project come alive,” said Keith Bellinger, Balcones president and chief operating officer. “This new facility will not only allow Balcones to meet growing product demand, but will also allow us to welcome whisky fans to the site with features like our tasting room.”
