Woodford Reserve has launched its 2016 commemorative Kentucky Derby bottle design

A celebration of the 2016 ‘Run for the Roses’, the bottle features artwork by award-winning equine artist Thomas Allen Pauly, who is the ‘Official Artist of American Pharoah – Triple Crown Winner’.

Pauly’s painting, Barreling Down, is on the front of the Woodford Reserve bottle, and depicts a close-up, impressionistic look into the big race as two thoroughbreds and jockeys tied in a race.

“Woodford Reserve is honoured to collaborate with an artist of such high calibre for this year’s commemorative Derby bottle,” said Jason Kempf, Woodford Reserve brand director.

“His years of experience, esteemed skillset in painting and passion for the equine industry correlate perfectly with Kentucky Derby.”

The commemorative bottle comes in a one-litre format and is available throughout the US now at an RRP of US$43.99.

Woodford Reserve has been the official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby for the last 18 years.
