Striped Pig lines up South Beach investment

Charleston-based Striped Pig Distillery and spirit development, marketing and distribution agency South Beach Spirits have signed a letter of intent for potential investment.

Striped Pig Distillery has signed a letter of intent to receive outside investment

Striped Pig specialises in small-batch, handcrafted spirits made from local ingredients. It has two operating divisions: the distillation of its own brands, including Shine, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Spiced Rum, Whiskey and Bourbon; and a private label spirits production on behalf of outside companies.

“The intent of our investment is to vertically integrate our brands under their private label division,” said Martin Ustin, South Beach Spirits CEO.

Jim Craig, Todd Weiss, Johnny Pieper and Juliana Harless, Striped Pig operating partners, commented that the investment would allow the distillery to accelerate the growth of its brand and improve overall production efficiencies and capacities at the distillery.

The terms of the investment have not been disclosed by either party.

Striped Pig Distillery was founded in 2013 and was Charleston’s first distillery since Prohibition.
