Le Clos has opened a wine and spirits store at Dubai International Airport’s new Concourse D
The new space, the retailer’s sixth shop, is said to set a “new standard” in airport retail through its “continued commitment to delivering world-class experiences”.
Merchandise units and shelving have been adapted to maximise use of space and allow customers to browse more freely. Well-lit, temperature controlled units are used to create eye-catching displays of regular- and large-format bottles.
In-store services include complementary bottle engraving, while a bespoke concierge provision enables customers to place their order online or over the phone prior to departure and then collect on arrival at Dubai International.
Among the extensive spirits portfolio on offer is one of the world’s largest travel retail collections of The Macallan, and the Golden Age of Travel, an exclusive for the region.
The new Le Clos store will be run by WSET-qualified staff, who, when combined, speak more than 20 languages.
Andrew Day, group CEO, said: “Ensuring our people retain that enthusiasm and passion for the products they sell is vital to delivering a world-class experience.
“We always consider feedback from our customers as we evolve our in-store offering, some of which you will see in the new store. But a great store fit out alone is not enough; it’s our people who will create that personal experience that will hopefully bring customers back again and again.”
The new Le Clos store is located next to Gate D13 in Dubai International’s Terminal 1, Concourse D. The shop is opened for 24 hours a day, seven days a year.
Dubai International Airport’s Concourse D opened in February 2016, increasing the airport’s passenger capacity to 90 million passengers a year.
