Bruichladdich releases unpeated TR-exclusive
By Kristiane SherryRémy Cointreau Travel Retail Americas will unveil unpeated single malt The Laddie Eight at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas.
Bruichladdich is launching The Laddie Eight into global travel retail
The latest instalment in Bruichladdich’s The Laddie range, the eight-year-old Scotch whisky was matured in American and European oak in a warehouse right on Loch Indaal.
Bottled at 50% abv, the whisky is said to offer notes of apple, pear, and “subtle layers of oak”.
The Laddie Eight was released by head distiller Adam Hannett, with the aim of preserving the “elegant, floral” notes of the young spirit.
Bruichladdich is situated on Islay, the Hebrides, and is the island’s largest private employer, with 85 members of staff.
The distillery says its Laddie range “consistently undermines the myth that ‘the older a whisky gets, the better it becomes’.”
All its whiskies, including The Laddie Eight, are non-chill-filtered and bottled at natural colour.
The Laddie Eight will be available exclusively in travel retail from April 2016 priced at RSP €59. The product will be presented at IAADFS by Rémy Cointreau Travel Retail Americas at number 113
