‘World’s most advanced’ drinking app seeks funding
By Melita KielyVertisense Inc. has begun a crowdfunding campaign to launch the “world’s most advanced” alcohol tracking mobile app, called Alcohoot Edge.
Alcohoot Edge claims to be the “world’s most advanced” alcohol tracking appThe app is designed to “seamlessly” fit any adult’s daily routine to keep track of their health and well-being when it comes to alcohol consumption, monitoring both short and long term health effects.
The Indiegogo campaign has a funding target of US$25,000 and features an ‘early bird’ special of US$60 – a 50% saving off the recommended US$120 investment – and several other benefits.
“With Alcohoot Edge, users will immediately notice not only the updated design, but the accuracy, ease of use and seamless integration with our mobile app,” said Christopher Ayala, CEO of Vertisense.
“Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the use of the IoT devices is a priority for all of us and with the Edge, we enable people to enjoy themselves, but still get up the next day and go on their morning run.”
Alcohoot Edge uses the same level of technology as found in legal breathalysers, the firm claims, and combines platinum electrochemical fuel cell along with an active breath sampling system, which includes a 15 second timer to deliver the “most accurate” blood alcohol content readings.
Users of Alcohoot Edge must blow into the device to measure their breath, which comes with extra mouth pieces for “improved hygiene and ingress protection”.
The app is designed for both iOS and Android phones, and offers morning quizzes to offer a “qualitative analysis to algorithmically “predict optimal alcohol consumption levels, allowing users to keep a record of their drinking behaviour. It is also supported by Apple HealthKit.
Furthermore, Alcohoot Edge includes GPS-based recommendations on bars and restaurants near the user’s location, plus taxi options “ensuring a safe night out”.
