SMWS partners with Few Spirits for new Bourbon
By Amy HopkinsThe Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) has launched a three-year-old single cask Bourbon distilled at Chicago-based Few Spirits.
B4.1 is the latest single cask Bourbon from the Scotch Malt Whisky SocietyIn society style, the Bourbon is named B4.1 ‘Comforting coconut, bountiful banana flavour’ and has been bottled at 62.6% abv.
It has been created at Few Spirits, a new distillery to the society, which regularly bottles spirits other than its staple single cask Scotch malt whiskies.
SMWS said: “From the Society’s Spicy & Sweet flavour profile, the three-year-old Bourbon was matured in a new charred oak cask which evokes a taste of coconut macaroons and Walnut Whips.”
Priced £65, the Bourbon is said to have a flavour of quinine, tree bark, coconut, cola cubes, red laces, cherry lips and Dandelion and Burdock. Only society members can purchase SMWS bottles.
In December 2015, SMWS released its first single cask Cognac, known as CI Nectar celeste.
Last year, SMWS announced it had become a fully independent operation from the Glenmornagie Company following its sale to a group of private investors.
