Martell unveils third Millésime expressionBy Kristiane Sherry
Pernod Ricard Travel Retail has released Millésime 1972, the third expression in Martell’s Millésime Collection.
The travel retail exclusive Cognac has been aged for 43 years in old barrels, and rested for a time at Chais de la Coquille, the Martell House’s oldest cellar in Cognac.
A limited edition release, 3,500 numbered units have been made available, of which 2,500 are exclusive to Asia travel retail.
The bottle itself is said to be inspired by the Martell ‘montre’, a small, cylindrical carafe traditionally used to hold eau-de-vie samples prior to blending.
Martell Millésime 1972 is available from February 2016 for RRP US$838 throughout Asia travel retail. Key product showcases are planned for Hong Kong International Airport, Taoyuan Airport, Changi Airport, Bangkok Downtown duty free store and Kuala Lumpur Airport.
The Martell House celebrated 300 years in 2015, with a number of commemorative events held to mark the occasion.
