The Bourbon used in the new expression was both distilled and aged on-site at the distillery, which is based in Bardstown, Kentucky.

Master Distiller, Ken Pierce, says the whiskey offers “flavours of butterscotch and caramel notes, delicately balanced with hints of fruit and toffee”.

“The body is rich and lingers on the tongue for a delicate and pleasant finish,” he added.

1792 Single Barrel Bourbon is bottled at 49.3% abv will be available from the end of February at an RRP of US$39.99.

Barton’s previous releases, including Sweet Wheat and Port Finish Bourbons, are now sold out. Further 1792 releases are set to be released throughout the year.
