Mahiki is no stranger to being frequented by famous faces, and this week saw Little Mix member Leigh-Anne step behind the bar to shake up a Mahiki Coconut cocktail.
On Wednesday, SB was invited to Oblix for an evening of cocktail indulgence on the 32nd floor of The Shard. The occasion celebrated the bar’s new menu ‘Tasting America’, which took its inspiration from the rich history of the US, from geographical and political to historical and even fictional events.
Oblix provided a stunning view of the London skyline lit up at night, perfect for testing the new ‘Tasting America’ menu, which includes cocktails such as American Beauty, made from Tanqueray 10 Gin, rose, lychee and Champagne, and the More Buck More Bang!, a blend of Reyka Vodka, bitter berry, ginger beer and peach bitters.
Travellers through Copenhagen Airport will be hard-pressed to miss the latest travel retail activation from Waldemar Behn, Akita Electronics and Tax Free by Heinemann, designed to create an “après-ski” ambience to the airport with Danzka Vodka and Dooley’s.
British Isles blended whisky The One, distilled by The Lakes Distillery, was the official whisky of the 21st National Television Awards’ (NTA) after show party. Award winners on the night included TV favourites Ant and Dec, Billy Connolly, Suranne Jones and Danny Dyer.
Glenmorangie helped imbibers travel back to their childhoods today with its sweet shop-themed event this week to celebrate the launch of its latest expression – Glenmorangie Milsean. Dr Bill Lumsden, director of distilling and whisky experimentation at Glenmorangie, was there to host the event attended by an abundance of drinks industry professionals.
To mark the launch of Glenmorangie Milsean, the seventh addition to the brand’s Private Edition range, the expression will be available at Brown’s Hotel London as part of the venue’s 10-day whisky pop-up in the Library Bar. A collaboration with Beretta, Brown’s Hotel will turn the Library Bar into a “Gaelic haven” between 20-29 January, opening at 6pm every night. Approximately 40 whiskies will be on display including additional expressions from Glenmorangie, with a whisky sommelier available to tend to consumers’ needs and preferences.
The American Bar at London’s revered hotel The Savoy launched a short silent film this week to celebrate the launch of its new London-inspired menu. The cocktail list brings together theatre and storytelling to guide patrons on a journey around six of the city’s boroughs surrounding the hotel.
