Alcoholic Architecture offers ‘Bitter Tears’
By Kristiane SherryBompas & Parr’s Alcohol Architecture is to host a workshop where participants can create cocktail bitters from pasteurised human tears.
Bompas & Parr, founded by Sam Bompas (left) and Harry Parr (right), are adding Bitter Tears to their portfolio of wacky drinks eventsAccording to the organisers, there are three types of tears: basal, reflex and psychic. The aim is to extract all three from participants during the workshop by various methods, including massage and menthol, to “distill the finest bottle of bitters”.
Those taking part can then select their own blend of aromatic herbs and spices and infuse or tincture them in high-proof spirit, before naming the finished bitters.
The organisers say the bitters “will be delicious as well as a decadent gift”.
Bompas & Parr is the multi-sensory culinary events group behind the “Cloud Bar“, “whisky tornado” and the “Anatomical Whisky Tasting” concepts. In addition to the Bitter Tears initiative, the group is also offering Yoga with Butterflies and a Christmas Jelly Workshop in London in the run-up to the festive season.
The Bitter Tears Workshop takes place across two sessions, one at the British Museum of Food and the other at Alcoholic Architecture, London, on 15 December.
