Walsh Whiskey agrees distribution with Illva Saronno

Walsh Whiskey Distillery has agreed an exclusive deal with Illva Saronno to distribute two of the firm’s Irish whiskeys in Italy – The Irishman Single Malt and The Irishman Founder’s Reserve.

Walsh Whiskey Distillery has signed a distribution deal with Illva Saronno in Italy

The Irishman Single Malt is triple distilled and aged in Bourbon and Sherry casks, with just 6,000 bottles produced in each batch.

The Irishman Founder’s Reserve is the original and signature blend from the distillery, made using a single malt and single pot still aged in Bourbon casks.

“I am delighted to be signing this agreement with our strong and valued partner Illva Saronno on behalf of Walsh Whiskey Distillery,” said Bernard Walsh, founder of Walsh Whiskey Distillery. “We are proud that our ultra-premium The Irishman whiskey will now be distributed across such an important country as Italy.”

Illva Saronno – owner of the Disaronno and Tia Maria brands – has an expansion strategy to seek investment opportunities in sectors with “high potential”.

Irish whiskey is currently the fastest growing spirits category in the world and earlier this year, the Irish Whiskey Association announced targets to grow the sector by 300% by 2030.

“I am pleased to announce the exclusive distribution of the The Irishman whiskey in Italy,” commented Augusto Reina, CEO of Illva Saronno. “It is an honour for me to continue to invest in the Italian market by enriching our portfolio with such a top-quality product with such great potential like Irish whiskey.

“With this partnership, we will also strengthen our role as an international player in the world of spirits.”
