Star Wars bar to bring ‘The Force’ to Manchester

A fan-run Star Wars convention in Manchester, UK, is to open The Mos Eisley Cantina Tavern, a venue inspired by the film series and its famous locations.

Part of For The Love of the Force, which takes place next month, The Cantina will feature blue “bantha milk” cocktails, as drunk by Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IV.

For the purposes of the bar, the bantha milk cocktail is made from Irish Meadow Country Cream, Red Square Vodka and a dash of blue food colouring.

Andy Kleek, managing director of the convention, told the Manchester Evening News that he hopes the bar will become a permanent fixture, and possibly even a stand alone cocktail bar if demand is high.

If the initial cocktail menu is anything to go by, his vision could come to fruition. Wookie Juice (Red Square Sloe Vodka, lemon juice and sugar syrup); Princess Punch (vodka, elderflower cordial, lemon juice and soda); and Jam Jar Binks (Red Square Toffee Vodka, apple schnapps lemon juice) will be on offer as fans navigate an Ewok village, Jabba The Hutt’s palace, and an X-Wing Starfighter replica.

Other Star Wars events at the convention include a Jedi training school, and a Hyperspace photo shoot.

For The Love of the Force will take place from 4-6 December at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Manchester.
