Chelsea-based restaurant Nam Long Le Shaker is launching what it claims is the UK’s first cocktail menu dedicated to Chinese spirit baijiu .

Nam Long has launched the UK’s first dedicated baijiu cocktail menu

The pan-Asian restaurant and barn will serve baijiu-based serves such as the Bye-Joe – a mix of baijiu, lime juice, calvados, cinnamon syrup and agave – and the Wángz? – which includes lime-juice, apple and caramel.

“A strong flavoured and powerful spirit, baijiu carries an earthy funk and robust aroma and needs to be paired with carefully selected ingredients to bloom,” the venue said.

Established in 1985 by Thai Dang, Nam Long is now run by Dang’s daughter Dzuyen following his death last year.

Earlier this year, the venue launched a new in-house cocktail bar, called The Opium Den, which will continue to serve the famous Flaming Ferrari – a cocktail which is set on fire and consumed quickly through a straw.
