Beveland to handle Zignum Mezcal in Europe

Spain-based Beveland Distillers is hoping to achieve a “new era of success” after signing a deal to distribute Zignum Mezcal in Europe.

Zignum Mezcal will be distributed by Beveland Distillers in Europe from next year

Beveland, which handles spirits and liqueurs across more than 60 countries globally, will commenced market distribution of Zignum, which is created by Casa Armando Guillermo Prieto, owner of the largest mezcal distillery in existence, in 2016.

“In the last several years, mezcal has gone from being a traditional beverage enjoyed by few, to a fashionable drink in restaurants, cocktail lounges and ball rooms in the main trend-setting cities at a global level,” said Beveland.

“This interest has resulted in a 78% increase in consumption in the last year, according to data from the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture.”

Zignum Mezcal is said to be devoid of the staple smoky flavour of traditional mezcals, making it more suitable form mixing in cocktails.

The brand will hit the European market in January 2016 through Beveland Distillers and supported by a large communications campaign.
