Lucas Bols confirms new largest shareholder

Lucas Bols has confirmed Ketel One Vodka founder Nolet Group is now its largest stakeholder after the firm acquired AAC Capital’s share.

Ketel One Vodka co-owner Nolet Group is now the largest shareholder in Dutch spirits producer Lucas Bols

Nolet Group, which co-owns the Ketel One Vodka brand with UK drinks giant Diageo, has now taken over ACC Capital’s 21% stake in Lucas Bols.

The firm said that its will keep its shareholding under 30% as part of its “strategic investment” strategy.

A spokesperson for Lucas Bols said: “For Lucas Bols it is a shift in our shareholder base – from one large shareholder to the other.”

Earlier this year, the company reported a marginal sales dip in 2014/15 to €77.7 million, blaming the “negative effect” of the Japanese yen and Russian rouble.

However, due to “strong growth” in Latin America and Africa, sales in the emerging markets grew 2%.

Lucas Bols entered the Amsterdam stock exchange this year as the “next logical step” in its development and as part of a bid to raise €125 million (£98M).

The financial terms of Nolet Group’s deal with AAC Captial have not been disclosed.
