Following on from his appearance in The Gentleman’s Wager, launched last year to promote Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Law is starring in The Gentleman’s Wager II.

The film has been released as part of Johnnie Walker’s recently unveiled Joy Will Take You Further campaign – the largest in the brand’s history.

Law stars alongside Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini and Chinese actress Zhao Wei in The Gentleman’s Wager II, which will be launched globally on 31 October.

The film also features cameos from other famous Johnnie Walker ambassadors including Formula One racers Mika Häkkinen and Jenson Button, while British director Jake Scott was once again recruited as director.

“Diageo is committed to the growth of luxury Scotch, both in the UK market and globally,” said Nick Temperley, head of Diageo Reserve Brands, GB.

“This film signals Diageo’s confidence in the category and continued investment behind the Johnnie Walker brand to drive the next decade of growth for the world’s best-selling blended Scotch whisky.”

The previous installment of the film received 45 million digital views.

The Gentleman’s Wager II evocatively captures how the act of giving and expressing gratitude can deliver great joy,” said Law.

“I’m a big believer in joy fuelling progress and it’s been wonderful working on this second film for Gentleman’s Wager, in collaboration with the Johnnie Walker Blue Label brand.”

Wager II is not nearly as good as Wager I. Not as entertaining, nor as well filmed. Not good. Not good at all.
