Deadline extended for Alan Lodge Young Writer Award

Young spirits writers now have until 23 October to submit an entry for the Alan Lodge Young International Spirits Writer of the Year Award 2015.

Amy Hopkins, winner of the 2014 Alan Lodge Award, Ian Taylor of William Grant, Daisy Jones, The Spirits Business, and the Lodge family

The Award was founded in memory of Alan Lodge, the late deputy editor of The Spirits Business, who sadly passed away suddenly in 2012. The award seeks to recognise promising young spirits journalists, bloggers and columnists under the age of 35.

While organised by The Spirits Business and kindly sponsored by William Grant & Sons, the Alan Lodge Young International Spirits Writer of the Year Award is entirely assessed by an independent panel of judges, making the decision process entirely impartial.

The winner of the award is announced in early December. Entrants may submit up to three pieces of work, written in the English language in Microsoft Word format, to info@thespiritsbusiness.com with the subject headed “Alan Lodge International Young Spirits Writer of the Year Award 2015”.

All work must have been published in print or online between 1 October 2014 and 30 September 2015.

The deadline for entries for the International Young Spirits Writer of the Year Award is now 23:59 Friday 23 October. All entrants must be aged 35 or under on this date.

If you have any queries, or are interested in entering the award, please contact Charlotte Wise: charlotte@thedrinksbusiness.com
