Campari America launches Cynar 70 Proof
By Annie HayesCampari America has unveiled Cynar 70 Proof, marketed as “double the intensity” at almost double the abv of original Cynar.
Cynar is one of a select group of Italian spirits and liqueurs that has found favour in the USThe original artichoke liqueur recipe of 13 infused herbs and plants was introduced in Italy in 1952 by Venetian entrepreneur and philanthropist Angelo Dalle Molle, and the new take is crafted from the same secret recipe.
A two-stage process of infusion and blending with a higher alcohol content takes place to achieve “a more pronounced flavour profile” than the original Cynar.
The liqueur is said to carry “distinctive herbal qualities”,”married with hints of dried fruit” and “rounded by caramel smoothness”.
Cynar is one of a select group of Italian spirits and liqueurs including Campari, Aperol, Averna and Braulio that has found favour in the US.
Cynar 70 Proof will be available across the US at an RRP of US$34.99 for a one litre bottle.
