Bowmore has launched the “third and final” whisky in its Devil’s Casks range
The whisky, bottled at 56.7% abv, has been matured in both first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks for an undisclosed number of years.
The Pedro Ximénez liquid is said to offer a “sweet” flavour of chocolate and coffee, while the Oloroso whisky contributes “dark, fruity” aroma of figs and raisins.
First launched in 2013, The Devil’s Casks series pays homage to the Islay tale of how the devil himself was chased through the village of Bowmore and into the gates of its distillery before escaping in a cask of whisky bound for the mainland.
The two limited edition whiskies previously released in the range were matured in first-fill Sherry casks for 10 years.
The Devil’s Casks III Double the Devil will be available in limited quantities throughout key markets from 26 October 2015 at an RRP of £190.00.
