Gautier Cognac inks UK distribution deal with Catalyst Brands
Catalyst Brands has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Gautier Cognac to distribute its VS, VSOP and XO Cognacs throughout the UK.
Catalyst Brands will exclusively distribute Gautier Cognac’s core portfolio in the UKEffective from September, the deal will see Gautier’s product portfolio made available from Catalyst Brands via specialist drinks retailers and wholesalers across the country.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Catalyst portfolio and chose them as our distributor because of the great work they have done with Gruppo Campari,” said Olivier Bernazeau, Gautier Cognac general manager.
Gary Squire, managing director of Catalyst Brands, commented: “The addition of Gautier Cognac to the Catalyst portfolio is fantastic news. The quality of Gautier is a level which will be thoroughly enjoyed across the UK, especially as the festive season approaches.”
Maison Gautier, which was established in 1755, has its cellars in a former water mill. This creates a very humid environment which is said to influence the maturing Cognacs for their signature “mellowness, roundness and aromatic richness”.
A trading division of Matthew Clark wholesale, Catalyst Brands was launched in June 2012 to provide distribution services for premium brands across all UK trade channels.
Earlier this week it was announced that Conviviality Retail was to acquire Matthew Clark for £200 million.
