Outrage as bar serves fruit off near-naked women

A Sydney bar has come under fire for what many have called sexist behaviour after serving fruit off the bodies of near-naked women.

The Cruise Bar, based in Circular Quay, hosted a tropical-themed event on Wednesday evening to celebrate its re-launch and served fruit off the bodies of women wearing only nude-coloured underwear.

Scantily clad male models were also present at the event, but did not act as fruit trays.

After numerous images of the event were posted on social media, many users expressed outrage, calling the stunt “unacceptable” and “disgusting” and indicative of “objectification”.

Cruise Bar has not yet responded to The Spirits Business‘ requests for comment.
