Heatwave helps Antica Sambuca sales soar 20%

Hi-Spirits has reported a 20% jump in on-trade sales for its Antica Sambuca Flavours in the last month as a result of the UK’s record-breaking temperatures in July.

The UK distributor claims consumers have ditched Antica Sambuca shots in favour of long drinks served over ice – a direct impact of Britain’s unusually warm weather.

Furthermore, Hi-Spirits has attributed the heatwave to a “sharp increase” in demand for summer POS kits, designed to promote five Antica long serves.

These include mixed drinks such as Midnight Memories, made using Antica Liquorice and cranberry juice, and Chilli Fizz, which is a blend of Antica Chilli with lemonade.

The kits come with Antica branded pitchers, A3 posters, menus, bunting and table talkers.

“We vary the range of Antica Long Drinks each year, and this summer’s selection were proving to be our most popular even before the temperature hit record highs,” commented Dan Bolton, managing director of Hi-Spirits.

“We’re expecting the limited supplies of POS kits still available to be snapped up quickly.”

The Antica Sambuca flavour range comprises Liquorice, Chilli, Tropical, Raspberry and Apple.
