Beam Suntory creates another new exec role

Beam Suntory has appointed former Kraft Heinz Company executive Greg Hughes to oversee its entire US marketing division in a newly created position.

Greg Hughes has been appointed to the newly created role of general manager, US, at Beam Suntory

As general manager, US, Hughes will oversee vice presidents in three key business areas: Bourbon, World Whiskey and Innovation, and Mixables, including vodka and Tequila.

Hughes, who took up the role on 17 August, will report directly to Beam Suntory Americas president Tim Hassett.

“Greg brings impressive marketing prowess, strategic thinking, commercial acumen and a track record of driving business results in large and small organizations,” said Hassett.

“His broad functional experience is a unique mix of marketing, operations, supply chain and sales, which will be key in continuing our momentum in the Americas.”

Hughes previously worked at The Kraft Heinz Company in role of vice president of marketing for the group’s “Enhancers” portfolio. He previously held a number of executive roles at Bel Brands.

Earlier this month, Beam Suntory reported a sales surge of 54% in the first half of its financial year, bolstered by strong performances of its Bourbon and Japanese whisky portfolios.

The group recently appointed former Campbell Arnott’s executive John Rosair to the new role of managing director, Oceania.
