Johnnie Walker launches engraved luxury bottles
By Amy HopkinsDiageo has launched a limited edition collection of hand-engraved bottles of The John Walker Scotch whisky, which will be exclusively available from the Johnnie Walker House whisky embassies.
The John Walker Philip Lawson Johnston limited edition bottles will be exclusively available from the Johnnie Walker House whisky embassiesJohnnie Walker teamed up with Philip Lawson Johnston, specialist hand engraver of glass by appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, to create the bottle designs.
The John Walker Philip Lawson Johnston Edition has been “inspired by classical Scottish tradition” and features one of two designs – the scene of the “Classic MacNab” from the novel John MacNab or “Distillery Heritage” which pays homage to the art of whisky making.
“It is truly a privilege to witness Philip, one of the finest hand engravers of glass and Jim, one of world’s most respected whisky blenders, two extraordinary craftsmen, come together in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create beautiful, bespoke pieces of The John Walker, skillfully engraved as art pieces that will appeal to and be coveted by like-minded luxury consumers,” said Lawrence Law, global general manager of Johnnie Walker House.
“Where the craft of glass engraving meets the craft of whisky blending, this unique collaboration fittingly encapsulates our vision in taking the art, craftsmanship, heritage and creativity of Scotch whisky to the four corners of the world.”
The John Walker Philip Lawson Johnston Edition bottles will be exclusively available through Diageo’s growing network of luxury Scotch whisky embassies, called Johnnie Walker House.
Diageo has opened Johnnie Walker Houses in Beijing, Chengdu, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.
In February this year, the group added an Art Deco-inspired bottling to the John Walker & Sons whisky range.
