Indiana distillery unveils Metze’s Select Bourbon
Indiana-based distillery MGP has unveiled Metze’s Select, a new limited edition Indiana straight Bourbon whiskey.
Metze’s Select is a combination of three of MGP’s “favourite” straight Bourbon whiskeys
MGP’s Lawrenceburg distillery has been producing whiskey for almost 170 years, and its latest release, Metze’s Select, is a combination of three of MGP’s “favourite” straight Bourbon whiskeys.
The new expression offers a “Lawrenceburg-style high rye characteristic” that merges “spicy notes” with “creamy vanilla and caramel”.
MGP’s Master Distiller Greg Metze has crafted only 6,000 hand-numbered bottles of the variant, which contains 38% 2006 Bourbon (21% rye), 3% 2006 Bourbon (36% rye), and 59% 2008 Bourbon (21% rye).
“MGP has a proud legacy of making world-class whiskeys,” said MGP president and CEO Gus Griffin.
“Metze’s Select celebrates that heritage and showcases our distillation, maturation and formulation expertise.”
Metze’s Select is bottled at 46.5% abv, and will be available in 750ml bottles at an RRP of US$74.99.
It is expected to be available from September this year.
