Timberlake stars as lime in Sauza Tequila ad

Justin Timberlake can be seen sporting a head-to-toe green lime costume in his latest film, No Limes Needed – a video launched to promote his Tequila brand Sauza 901.

Justin Timberlake stars in a new video campaign for his Tequila brand Sauza 901

Launched in time for Cinco de Mayo today, the video depicts Timberlake as a lime called Rick “Sour” Vane as he reflects on limes’ biggest accomplishments such as curing “pucker face” and scurvy, amongst others.

His character Vane reminisces about the former glory days of limes, but argues since the launch of Sauza 901 putting limes in drinks has gone out of fashion followed by the tag line “No Limes Needed”.

“It was like you couldn’t drink Tequila without one of us,” Timberlake exclaimed in the film.

“When we walked into the club, it was like everything was in slow motion.

“Literally. It was like we were rock stars. Oranges? Dead. Maraschinos? Dead.”

The video continues to show Timberlake and other limes protesting Sauza Tequila at several bars, before caving and sitting at a bar himself sipping Sauza 901 on the rocks.

The campaign is also running across social media platforms with the hashtag #NoLimesNeeded.
