SaloonBox hopes to join other burgeoning cocktail and drinks delivery services in the USSaloonBox has launched on the crowd-funding website to bring its business to market, offering ingredients kits and instructions for customers to make cocktails at home.
The company offers subscribers a new cocktail recipe and kit each week that has been designed by professional mixologists. Each ingredients card will include instructions, as well as background information on the bartender who created the serve.
A dedicated SaloonBox website will also show customers how to create their cocktails through a video.
“You could easily spend US$100 getting all the bottles needed to make a specialty cocktail. These full-sized bottles may end up sitting in your cabinet,” the company’s pitch reads.
“SaloonBox gives you all you need to make two cocktails at home. If you like it, you can always order more through our retail partner.
“Our idea for SaloonBox is that you will be able to try a wide array of whiskeys, Tequilas, rums and vodkas without dropping hundreds of dollars on full-sized bottles.”
The company plans to partner with a main alcohol retailer which has an alcohol license to ship to most US states.
Crowd-funding – where both fledgling and established companies seek expansion by offering “rewards” in exchange for funding – has been gathering pace across the drinks industry in recent years.
The niche on-demand alcohol delivery industry has also witnessed significant growth, with a number of start-ups rapidly expanding their businesses.
In March this year, another cocktail delivery service, called Cocktail Courier, launched in Chicago.
