The new gin is named in homage to the historic local Lehigh Canal, which was constructed to transport coal and supplies to and from Pennslyvania, in celebration of the people who guarded the historic waterway.
It is bottled at 45% abv, and will join the Allentown distillery’s current line-up of Sand Island Rum and Class 8 Vodka.
County Seat Spirits was founded in 2014 as the Lehigh Valley’s first licensed distillery since prohibition, and has only been producing spirits since Autumn last year.
It prides itself on being a “grain to glass distillery”, performing the entire process from grain to bottle on its site in Allentown, and plans to release a barrel-aged rum this summer.
Lock Keeper Gin is available at an RRP of US$31.
