Chivas Regal releases $3,500 NAS blended Scotch

Chivas Regal has launched a travel retail exclusive that it describes as “the pinnacle” of its Scotch whisky portfolio – Chivas Regal The Icon.

Chivas Regal The Icon will launch in Dubai Duty Free in May before a global roll out in September

The ultra prestige expression is a blend of more than 20 of the “rarest and oldest” whiskies in the Chivas Regal inventory and is available from Dubai Duty Free from this month, before a global travel retail launch in September.

Chivas Regal The Icon includes single malts from Strathisla, Longmorn and Glen Keith distilleries.

“We are very proud to establish a new standard in precious Scotch whisky with Chivas Regal The Icon and we will continue to lead the way in crafting luxury Scotch that impresses Chivas fans and sophisticated whisky aficionados,” commented Richard Black, Chivas Regal global brand director. “Chivas Regal The Icon at its very best, the new pinnacle of the range.”

Each year, master blender Colin Scott will produce a limited number of bottles, presented in hand-blown decanters etched with the Chivas Regal crest.

The green colouring on the bottle gives a nod to the original Chivas Regal bottle that dates back to 1909.

“Chivas Regal The Icon is a truly exquisite blend,” said Scott. “I feel very honoured to be the master blender to present this luxury Scotch which features rich notes of honey, vanilla and dark chocolate balanced by subtle hazelnut influences from the cask.

“Chivas Regal The Icon delivers a long and luxurious finish in the smooth Chivas signature style.”

Chivas Regal The Icon is bottled at 40% abv and carries an RRP of US$3,500 (£2,267) per 700ml bottle.
