By Amy HopkinsScottish gin brand Caorunn is expanding its urban foraging project across seven UK cities this summer.
Caorunn Gin’s Forage to Glass initiative is expanding across the UKHighlighting how seasonal, local ingredients can be mixed with cocktails, Caorunn’s Forage to Glass initiative invites UK bartenders to forage in urban areas under the guidance of forager David Winnard, with the chance to create homemade syrups.
The first event will launch in London on 18 May, followed by events in Aberdeen, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool and Leeds, finishing up in Bristol early this autumn.
“Rolling out the initiative nationwide is a great way to bring to life the importance of the foraged botanicals within Caorunn Gin and promote foraging itself,” said Simon Buley, Caorunn Gin master distiller.
“I handpick our botanicals within walking distance of the distillery and support the harnessing of the seasons’ bounty to enable bartenders to create distinctive, stylish and great tasting craft cocktails.”
The Forage to Glass events are part of a global initiative being rolled out across the UK, Europe and US.
