Four Roses Bourbon hosted a charity mixology competition this week, the Nashville Charity Cocktail Challenge, which will see one plucky bartender win an exclusive trip to the four Roses Bourbon Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

Competitive heats of Four Roses Bourbon’s Nashville Charity Cocktail Challenge have so far taken place in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kansas City and Atlanta, with two more scheduled to take place this month in Atlanta and Austin. Fans can view videos of each bartender’s effort and vote for their favourite on the brand’s Facebook page.

To kick start the four-day Bank Holiday weekend last week, London bar Nola was joined by Nick Caputo, UK brand ambassador for Chartreuse, who designed a special Chartreuse menu for the venue.

Monkey Shoulder has been busy traveling around the UK hitting all the major cities for the first round of its Ultimate Bartender Championship 2015, including Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and London.

From quiz rounds to mixiodic tasks as seen above, entrants were put through their paces to determine the best bartending teams in the initial round of Monkey Shoulder’s Ultimate Bartender Championship 2015.

Diageo World Class announced its three regional winners this week who will progress to the US nationals. Congratulations to bartenders Laura Jelton, Harrison Ginsberg and Alex Renshaw who beat stiff competition from 12 other contestants.

The Craft Gin Club took advantage of the uncharacteristically warm weather in the UK over the Bank Holiday weekend and headed to Hope Cove in South Devon for some sun, sea and sand.

There have been no shortage of trade shows lately, and this week Hedonist Drink headed to Anvers in Belgium for the 2015 Venuez Hospitality Show.

Stock Spirits has revealed it is to sponsor the 13th Kinoteka Polish film festival, scheduled to run from 8 April to 29 May. At the launch event on Wednesday, the firm featured some of its top Polish vodka brands mixed in a myriad of cocktails much to the delight of guests who had just watched a screening of Krzysztof Zanussi’s Camouflage at BFI Southbank.

The Lakes Distillery is celebrating having filled the first 100 casks with its new make spirit, all of which is being set aside for the distillery’s founder members. Once matured, the single malt whisky will become The Lakes Malt.

On Thursday some of sb headed over to London’s recently opened Black Dice Bar to sample some of their delectable cocktails, including the Inked Daiquiri and Rock the Casbah.
