New alcohol delivery app SWILL compatible with iWatch

US alcohol delivery app SWILL will be available on Apple’s new iWatch, allowing consumers to order spirits from their smartphone and smartwatch.

Customers order and pay through the app and the store packs and delivers the items within 60 minutes

Customers are connected to local retailers based on their location, and pay through the app on their smartwatch or smartphone. The chosen store then packs and delivers the items within 60 minutes.

Delivery drivers from each participating store are issued with ID scanning technology which they use upon delivery in a bid to eliminate underage drinking and credit card fraud.

David Vainchenker, chief strategy officer for SWILL, said: “We couldn’t be more excited about the app. By utilising leading edge technology, we offer our customers a wide array of benefits.

“Customers will know exactly who delivers, what they sell, how much inventory they have in stock, and at what price.

“By integrating directly into the stores own payment processor, sensitive information like your credit card or personal data never exchanges hands. You’ve also got your full order history, user reviews, and your own tasting notes to enhance the experience.

“We’ve got a top notch customer support team and we only work with the very best retailers, so you know you’ll get a seamless experience.”

SWILL was founded 15 months ago in New York, and will soon launch in Austin, Washington DC, Buffalo, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, with “international expansion in the works”.

SWILL was designed using legal precedence established by declaratory rulings issued from the State Liquor Authority of New York.

Vainchenker explained: “What many liquor stores don’t realise is they are jeopardising their licenses by making the flawed assumption that all alcohol delivery apps have structured their businesses in a legal way.

“New York has some of the strictest rules in the US with regards to alcohol control and distribution.

“That’s what made it the perfect battle ground for us to get started. It’s also the reason why our business model is the only one that’s legal across the US.”

SWILL joins a variety of alcohol delivery platforms for specific US states, such as TopShelf, and MiniBar which recently purchased its competitor, Booze Carriage.
