Hennessy donates barrel of anniversary Cognac

An entire barrel of Hennessy 250 Collector Blend is expected to fetch more than £100,000 at a charity auctionLVMH-owned Hennessy unveiled its 250 Collector Blend in February this year to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
Created by the brand’s master blender Yann using eaux-de-vie selected during his 50 years with the brand, the Cognac has been aged in 250 handmade, specially commissioned 250-litre barrels of Limousin oak.
One barrel containing the blend will be the feature lot of soon-to-launch lotsofcharity.com, the proceeds of which will be donated to homelessness charity Centrepoint. It is expected to fetch more than £100,000.
The highest bidder will be flown to Cognac to visit the barrel before it is bottled into 250 decanters, and will have the opportunity to personalise the bottle and presentation box.
The buyer will be hosted by Hennessy’s Fillioux; Maurice Hennessy, 8th generation of the Hennessy family; and Bernard Peillon; president of the Hennessy Maison.

Lotsofcharity.com will launch on 29 April.
