Bacardi brings white sipping rum to the US
Bacardi has extended the availability of its super-premium white sipping rum Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron to the US, featuring a new bottle design.
Set to be officially launched at the 2015 James Beard Foundation Awards in Chicago on 4 May, the expression is a blend of rums aged for up to three years that have been filtered through coconut shell charcoal.
The rum is said to have a “superbly smooth” and “mellow” taste as a result of its double-ageing process in white oak casks, and has been designed to be drunk neat.
Bacardi said Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron is also targeted towards “aspiring cocktail connoisseurs” who are looking for “superior character” in their serves.
First launched into global travel retail in May 2014, the expression has now received a new bottle design in line with the the image makeover of Bacardi’s entire rum range.

Bacardi Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron is now rolling out nationwide at an RRP of US$24.99.
