By Amy HopkinsColombian rum brand Dictador has entered the Australian market for the first time after signing an exclsuive distribution deal with South Trade International.
Solera-aged Colombian rum Dictador has extended its global footprint by launching in Australia
The brand’s Dictador 12 Years Old Solera Rum System Rum, Dictador 20 Years Old Solera System Rum and Dictador XO Insolent Solera System Rum are all now available in the market.
“The progressive cocktail culture and desire for premium quality products have led us to believe that Dictador has great potential in Australia and we can build on Dictador’s worldwide success,” said Marek Szoldrowski, president of Dictador.
“Our move to South Trade will unlock national opportunities by utilising their networks and experience in the premium spirits category in the on and off trade.”
Dictador’s distillery, Destilieria Colombiana, was established in 1913, while the brand itself is named after a Spanish immigrant who set out to improve tax collection for Spain in the American Spanish colonies.
It was revealed last month that Dictador could soon become available in its domestic market if plans to implement devolved alcohol legislation laws are approved.
