Diageo partners with Sandra Lee for RTD cocktails

UK drinks group Diageo has partnered up with American celebrity cook Sandra Lee to launch a range of RTD Margarita cocktails.

Celebrity cook Sandra has launched Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Margaritas in partnership with Diageo

The range, called Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Margaritas, includes a Key Lime and Strawberry expression, which are infused with real fruit and include a mix of sugar, blue agave silver Tequila, triple sec and other “natural flavours”.

The ready-to-serve cocktails are gluten-free and have fewer than 150 calories per 4oz serving.

“My endless search for the perfect Margarita has come to a happy end,” said Lee. “While the Margarita is America’s number-one cocktail, it was nearly impossible to find a consistently great-tasting one.

“For the past year, I have made it my mission to create my own truly delicious Margarita.”

Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Margaritas are designed to be served straight from the bottle, but can also be used as a base for other cocktails, such as the Cosmopolitan, Mojito or Piña Colada, with recipes available on the back of each bottle.

Lee, famed for her Semi-Homemade Cooking television series, first started working with Diageo in 2004. She will promote the new range on a national “Magazine and Margarita” tour across the US from 15 April to 4 July.

“After more than a decade of working together, we are thrilled to launch Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Margaritas,” said Ami-Lynn Bakshi, vice president of innovation at Diageo.

“As a trusted expert in at-home hosting, Sandra has helped create delicious margaritas that will arrive just in time for Cinco de Mayo and summer entertaining.”

Bottled at 26% abv, Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Margaritas carry an abv of 13% per 750ml bottle, which can serve six.
