Austin Matos launches new cachaça brand
By Amy HopkinsSpirits producer Austin Matos has partnered up with consultancy company Future Brand to launch new cachaça brand Zeca de Matos.
Zeca de Matos will launch around the world this monthThe spirit has been created by the Matos family at their estate in Brazil, under the guidance of fourth-generation Marcos Matos – grandson of Joseph “Zeca” de Matos.
Meanwhile, Future Brand developed the brand positioning and bottle design for Zeca.
“Working with Future Brand Austin Matos realised there was an opportunity to create a new-to-world spirit brand, leveraging the increasing influence of Brazil, thanks to the 2014 World Cup and the upcoming 2016 Olympics,” said Chris Nurko, global chairman of Future Brand.
On their estate, the Matos family has produced cachaça using once fresh pressed sugar cane grow at high altitude for more than 100 years.
The sugar cane is protected by indigenous anteaters – depicted in the brand’s bottle design.
Zeca de Matos, which has been under development since 2012, is launching around the world this month.
