Alltech releases single barrel Town Branch Bourbon

Kentucky distillery Alltech has released a one-off single barrel Bourbon for exclusive sale at its visitors’ centre.

The spirits and beer producer launched Town Branch Bourbon Single Barrel earlier this month, with exclusive availability at its visitor centre in Lexington, Kentucky.

Two barrels were hand-selected by master distiller Mark Coffman for the limited edition Bourbon bottling, which is said to have “strong vanilla and floral notes, and almost candy-like toffee notes” on the palate.

With just 150 bottles yielding from each barrel, all are recognised individually, and feature Coffman’s signature, as well as the bottle number and selection date.

Bottled at 62.5% abv, the Bourbon carries an RRP of US$69.99

Alltech, which also produces animal feed, plans to advance its presence in the Bourbon industry by building a new distillery in eastern Kentucky featuring aquaculture and poultry farms.

Its Lexington site opened in 2012 – marking the first time in 100 years that a distillery had been built in the town.
