Yellow Spot Irish whiskey makes debut in US

Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard has launched its single pot still Irish whiskey Yellow Spot in the US for the first time.

Single pot still Irish whiskey Yellow Spot is now available in the US

The 12-year-old whiskey, which has been aged in a combination of American bourbon, Spanish sherry and Spanish Malaga casks, was first launched in 2012 as part of the distillers’ Pot range.

Previously the whiskey was only available in select European countries, but will now join its stablemate Green Spot in the US market.

“Single pot still Irish whiskeys are the quintessential style of Irish whiskey and are characterised by full complex flavours,” said Paul Di Vito, vice president of Irish and North American whiskey at Pernod Ricard.

“We are thrilled to bring Yellow Spot to American whiskey lovers as single pot stills have become highly desired.”

Described as having a “sophisticated taste profile”, each batch of Yellow Spot is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, which is then triple distilled in traditional copper stills.

The 46% abv whiskey, which was originally produced by Dublin wine merchant Mitchell & Son, is now available in the across the US at an RRP of US$99.99.
