Valentine’s Margarita will set you back $30k

A bar in Austin, Texas, is offering a special Valentine’s Day Margarita served with a pair of 3.75 carat diamond earrings for US$30,000.

This diamond earring-garnished Margarita is available on Valentine’s Day for US$30,000

The costly cocktail is available from the Iron Cactus Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar and is made with Patron Platinum Tequila, Grand Marnier Centenaire, freshly squeezed lime juice and 100% organic agave nectar.

Available throughout 14 February, the earrings have been handcrafted by designer Zoltan David.

The restaurant has pledged to donate US$6,000 form every cocktail purchased to a local Austin charity called Cheryanna’s Champions 4 Children, which helps children and their families who are undiagnosed and have rare medical conditions.

“We wanted to give our guests an opportunity to enjoy a unique, memorable, romantic Valentine’s with their dates,” Gary Manley, general partner at Iron Cactus told Restaurant News.

“Nothing says ‘I love you’ more to that special someone than sharing a delicious Margarita with sparkling diamond earrings that your date can wear and take home.”

However, if you find US$30,000 is a bit of a stretch for your Valentine’s date, the drink is also available without the earrings for US$75.
