G&J Distillers forecasts ‘record-breaking’ turnover
By Melita KielyG&J Distillers is predicting “record-breaking” turnover for the coming year, forecasting an increase of 38% from 2012.
G&J Distillers produces products including Bloom Gin, Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin and Greenall’s GinThe Warrington-based firm expects its turnover to reach £66 million in 2015, compared to £48m in three years ago, with a 30% increase in the number of products shipped.
This additional output is being managed by a 20% expansion of the business’ production team.
G&J Distillers, part of the Quintessential Brands Group, produces 29 different gins – including Greenall’s gin, Bloom Gin, Berkeley Square Gin and Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin – and claims to manufacture 40% of gin in the UK and 20% globally.
“G&J Distillers has seen tremendous growth over the past two years in terms of turnover and output, and we are expecting to see these figures rise steeply as we look ahead to 2015,” commented Mark Parton, managing director of G&J Distillers.
“We now ship to over 34 countries across the world, so it’s been vital that we increase our staff to ensure we can meet the additional demand for products that we have seen over recent years.
“Our state of the art distillery ensures that we can produce more gin and other spirits than ever before,” Parton added.
“G&J Distillers’ continued growth is a testament to over 250 years of heard work and craftsmanship, and as the oldest distillery in the world we are delighted to look back at how far we’ve come and excited to see the great future that lies ahead.”
In addition, the distiller reported bottle production output has grown from 54.5m per year to 63m bottles per year – a hike of 15%, which is predicted to rise to 65m bottles this year.
