Wray & Nephew unveils three-litre rum bottle
By Amy HopkinsGruppo Campari’s Wray & Nephew has launched a limited edition three-litre bottle of its White Overproof Rum, dubbed Emperor Wray.

The first 100 bottles of Emperor Wray have been given away to Jamaicans who have displayed “exemplary national service”.
J. Wray & Nephew’s longest-serving employee, Alfred Kanhai, who has worked at the company for 45 years, was given the first Emperor Wray bottle. Kanhai works as a technician in the company’s agricultural division.
“The launch of the Emperor Wray represents J. Wray & Nephew Limited’s firm commitment to Jamaica, as we are the largest manufacturer and exporter of rum in the nation,” said Cecil Smith, group brand manager for rums at J. Wray & Nephew Limited.
“As a matter of fact, Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum is the world’s top selling overproof white rum. Our Emperor Wray will stand tall over all competing rums.”
The Emperor Wray rum, bottled at 63% abv, will carry an RRP of JAM$6,000 (£35).
J. Wray & Nephew was acquired by Gruppo Campari in 2012 when the Italian drinks group bought an 81% stake in Lascelles deMercado.
