Speed Rack and Giffard create fundraising liqueur

French liqueur producer Giffard has partnered with female bartending competition Speed Rack to launch a new rose liqueur in aid of breast cancer research.

Speed Rack Black Rose Liqueur, a 20% abv blend of Moroccan Rosa Damascena, neutral beet spirit and sugar, is the result of a collaboration between the producer, its US importer Back Bar Project, and the competition’s founders Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero.

Net proceeds from the sale of each bottle, which carries an RRP of US$34.99, will be donated to breast cancer awareness charities.

Jackie Patterson Brenner, national brand marketing director for Back Bar Project, said: “We’re extremely excited to team up with our friends at Speed Rack and the Giffard family for this unique project and truly delectable liqueur.

“Speed Rack is such an important event for women in our industry and we’re honored to play a part in raising funds for breast cancer awareness.”

The liqueur will be available in all US markets that host rounds of the female-only bartending competition, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Dallas and New York.

The competition is also run in the UK, and will be rolled out to Canada and France later this year.

The US final will be held in New York on 7 June 2015.
