Ireland primed for first Irish whiskey festival

Ireland will host its first Irish whiskey festival in celebration of the recent whiskey revival that has taken the country by storm.

Ireland’s first Irish whiskey festival will take place in Dublin this February

Due to launch on 16 February, Dublin Whiskey Fest will see 25 venues across the city feature the versatile spirit through one of the following serves; a hot toddy, an Irish coffee, an Irish whiskey cocktail, a pairing with a local beer, or a neat serve.

According to the festival’s organisers, Irish whiskey is making a major comeback locally due to the reopening and expanding of distilleries across the country, and increase in the construction of new operations.

The venues, which vary as much as the serves – from traditional Irish pubs to world-class cocktail bars – will offer up the Irish whiskey drink at a 30% discount to those who have purchased a special Whiskey Fest wristband, until the festival ends on 21 February.

In addition, wristband holders will have access to a single pot still seminar hosted by The Irish Whiskey Society, and will receive a complimentary upgrade upon visiting the newly opened Irish Whiskey Museum.

There will also be an Irish coffee competition open to Dublin’s bartenders and baristas.

To purchase a wristband, visit one of the participating venues or buy online from www.entertainment.ie.
